Pay Library Fines & Fees

We are fine free!

As of January 1, 2019, we eliminated late fines in an effort to decrease barriers and increase access for patrons.

Overdue books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks no longer accrue late fines.  Previous late fines on patrons’ accounts have been waived.  Fines and fees will still be charged for non-returned, lost, or damaged items.  Museum passes, fishing poles, bike locks, WiFi hotspots, laptops, Playaways, musical instruments, and other items will continue to accrue late fees.

Here are more details about the fine free policy.

Please note that other libraries in the Upper Hudson Library System have different fee rates that will apply when you visit them.

How To Pay Fines & Fees At Your Library

Visit any open neighborhood branch to pay library fines & fees. You may pay with cash, check, money order, Visa card, or MasterCard, and you will receive a receipt for your payment. If you find a lost item and return it within 60 days and you have your receipt, you may receive your money back, less the $5.00 maximum overdue fine. If the item is from another library, please speak with a staff member regarding payment procedure. Replacement copies of items are not acceptable.
