Sci Fi, Comics & Pop Culture Collide at APL

“May the force be with you” at Albany Public Library as its branches celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4 and Free Comic Book Day on May 5 with special activities and giveaways. The public is invited to participate in these free events. The Star Wars Day activities are for children and teens, while Free Comic Book Day is open to all ages.

 

Star Wars Day, aka “May the Fourth Be With You” | May 4 (Friday)

  • 3:00-5:30 pm | Bach Branch | 455 New Scotland Ave. | Make a Star Wars bookmark and enjoy a TIE Fighter snack. For ages 5-11.
  • 3:30-5:00 pm | Delaware Branch | 331 Delaware Ave. | Star Wars crafts, snacks, and a Star Wars movie. For ages 9-17.
  • 3:30-5:30 pm | North Albany Branch | 616 North Pearl St. | Watch “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” with popcorn and fruit punch. For ages 6-17.
  • 4:00-5:00 pm | Arbor Hill/West Hill Branch | 148 Henry Johnson Blvd. | Make a Star Wars-themed craft, and get a picture taken in a special Star Wars photo booth. Children are encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars characters. The photo booth will be open 12:00-6:00 pm. For ages 6-10.
  • 4:00-5:00 pm | Howe Branch | 105 Schuyler St. | Make Star Wars origami figures and enjoy a Jedi snack. | For ages 17 and under.
