Get Smart About Your Finances with Free Workshops

The Main Library is hosting a series of free half-day workshops this week designed to help people with money troubles get smart about their finances. Participants can choose to attend one or more of the sessions to be held on Wednesday, Oct. 27, and Thursday, Oct. 28. All sessions are free and open to the public. Registration is required by calling the Main Library Reference Department at 427-4303.

OCTOBER 27
Morning Sessions (9:30 am to 12:30 pm)
+ Financial Responsibility: Explore your perception of money and how it impacts your life
+ Identity Theft: How to protect yourself and your family

Afternoon Session (1:30 to 4:30 pm)
+ Credit: Learn the four types of credit, loans, and how to repair your credit

OCTOBER 28
Morning Session (9:30 am to 12:30 pm)
+ Banking and Budgeting: Learn how to choose the type of bank account that is best for you and how to set up a household or personal budget

Afternoon Session (1:30 to 4:30 pm)
+ Saving: Explore how to establish an emergency fund, and learn about basic types of investing, home ownership, and retirement
