Reserve Museum & Adventure Passes Online

July 9, 2025 | Library News

You can now make an online reservation in advance for the specific day you’d like to visit a museum or cultural venue in our pass program, and receive your pass via email. More than 20 local and regional museums, performance venues, historic sites, and adventure spots are included in the new online reservation program.

Formerly known as our “Museum Pass” program, we’re now calling it our “Museum & Adventure Pass” program to reflect the variety of passes that are available.

The passes provide free or reduced admission to cultural sites like the Albany Institute of History and Art, Clark Art Institute, Hancock Shaker Village, Madison Theatre, MASSMoCA, Olana State Historic Site, USS Slater, and the Wild Center.

To make an online reservation, visit our new Museum & Adventure Pass page. The pass will be emailed to you so you can print the pass before your visit. No printer access? We can print a pass for you free of charge.

You can reserve a pass up to 30 days in advance, and have three reservations at a time.

Note, we have additional passes that are only available to check out in physical form, like the NYS Parks Empire Pass. These are listed underneath the online passes on the Museum & Adventure Pass page. Physical passes must be returned to the APL branch where they were borrowed.

APL joins many libraries across the country that have adopted online reservation programs for their pass programs. We hope this will make our Museum & Adventure Passes more convenient and accessible than ever!
