Income Tax Preparation Assistance Available
The library has resources and assistance for you this income tax season. We are partnering with two organizations to help you prepare your tax returns in person at the Washington Ave. Branch, and all branches stock basic income tax forms.
You can get in-person income tax preparation assistance on select dates at Washington Ave. from our partners at the NYS Taxpayer Assistance Program (TAP) and IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA).
TAP | NYS Taxpayer Assistance Program
- NYS Tax Department employees help you prepare and e-file your state and federal returns on Mondays and select Tuesdays through April 14, 2025.

VITA | IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program
- IRS certified and trained volunteers prepare your federal and state income tax returns for you on Thursdays through April 10, 2025.

Tax Forms
- All branches stock basic Federal and New York State tax forms for individual filers.
- Please call or visit the reference desk of your neighborhood branch to learn what forms are available there.
