One of the first steps to joining the staff at Albany Public Library is taking an employment exam through the city of Albany Municipal Civil Service Commission.

Exams for several positions — librarian I, librarian II, librarian III, and library assistant — are coming up in March, so now’s the time to register.

Applications for these four exams must be submitted to the Albany Municipal Civil Service Commission in room 301 at Albany City Hall no later than Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 5:00 pm. The exams will be held online from March 1 through March 31.

The city also offers continuous exams for library clerk positions that can be taken at any time. Applications for the library clerk exam also have to be made through the city’s Civil Service Commission.
