Check out this story from All Over Albany. A new free mobile app, called “Albany: Then and Now,” features many historic photos from APL’s collection. The historic photos are housed in the Albany History Room at the Main Library.
Kudos to app creator Tim Varney for making great use of local resources and developing such a fun and informative app!
The Albany History Room is on the second floor of the Main Library at 161 Washington Avenue. The room is open:
Monday*: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Friday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
*City Historian Tony Opalka is available Monday evenings, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
