Garage Bands in the Garage Concert at Main Library on Sept. 18
Come enjoy the last weekend of the summer with an all-ages, indie rock concert at the Albany Public Library on Friday, Sept. 18. This season’s final Garage Bands in the Garage concert features Red Haired Strangers and Rattling Baddlies.
The free, all-ages, after-hours rock show takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the garage of the Main Library at 161 Washington Avenue. The garage is in the back of the building, off of Elk Street. Free parking is available in a parking lot adjacent to the library garage. Concert goers are encouraged to bring chairs and a picnic dinner. The award-winning concert series is in its third year.
Red Haired Strangers have performed together since the early 1990s and play a mix of original songs and other favorites from the guitar and harmonica duo to the full five-piece country band. Rattling Baddlies is a folk/roots-rock trio breathing new life into the works of songwriter Matt Durfee.
In addition to great live music, the Garage Bands in the Garage concert features:
• CD Garage Sale in the Garage—Buy used CDs retired from the library’s huge collection for just $1 each, or $1 for a grab bag of mystery CDs without cases
• The Big Purple Bus (aka Bookmobile)—Get a library card and check out materials
