Let your imagination soar in the world of books and join Albany Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.
Readers of all ages can have fun at the library this summer!
Babies and Toddlers – Parents are encouraged to read to their little ones for 15 minutes each day. You can pick up a monthly calendar and log your daily reading. Bring the calendar back at the end of the month, and you’ll get a free book for your child to keep.
Children – Kids ages 5 through 12 can “Dream Big Read” this summer. They earn prizes for reading each week, write reviews of the books they’re reading, and participate in special activities at the library.
Teens – Teens ages 13-18 can “Own the Night” with this summer’s reading program. They earn special teen prizes each week, also write book reviews that are posted online, and participate in cool activities at the library.
Adults – Grown-ups can get in on the summer reading action with our goodreads APL Online Reading Group, where you'll find a great place to share and connect with local readers, and many suggestions for your next book. We hope to continue the group throughout the year, but through August, you can win prizes for participating! Sign up for a goodreads account, then search groups for Albany Public Library and join us!
APL has dozens of great activities and events planned this summer!
