Thanksgiving Week Schedule
We’ve got lots of activities planned for this week, plus a holiday closure to tell you about, so read on for more details.
All library locations will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Also, the libraries close early at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 21. All libraries will re-open with regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 24.
There are some great activities on tap for the rest of the week. As usual, all events are free and open to the public. For more information, please call the host library or check the online calendar. Here are a few of this week’s APL events:
MONDAY, NOV. 19
+ Blues Mondays with Matt Durfee — A live, acoustical performance by the singer/songwriter — At 6 pm at the Main Library
+ Rock School — Adults and teens learn how to write a song — At 7-8:30 pm at the Main Library
TUESDAY, NOV. 20
+ Friends of APL Book Review — Enjoy a review of Patrick O’Brian’s “Master and Commander” — At 12:15 pm at the Main Library
+ It’s Elementary Kids’ Club — Fun after-school activities for grade-school students — At 3:45 pm at the Pine Hills Branch
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 21
+ Working Knowledge Public Computing Center — Drop in for help with job searches and basic computer skills — At 9 am til 5 pm at the Main Library (second floor computer lab)
SATURDAY, NOV. 24
+ Art Group — Adults and teens explore their inner artists — At 2-3:30 pm at the Bach Branch
+ Wii Afternoon — Kids ages 11-17 enjoy Wii gaming with friends — At 2-4 pm at the Howe Branch
SUNDAY, NOV. 25
+ Friends of APL Piano Recital — Noted area pianist Findlay Cockrell performs a recital of classic music — At 2 pm at the Main Library
