What’s Happening This Week

Get ready for another full week of FREE programs, classes, and activities at the library. Here are just a few things we have in store for you:

MONDAY, MARCH 26

+ Learn how to manage your credit and protect your identity in this free workshop at the Pine Hills Branch at 6 pm. Sponsored by SEFCU in partnership with the CA$H Coalition. Pizza and soda will be served.

TUESDAY, MARCH 27

+  Times Union writer Paul Grondahl reviews Chris Matthews’ “Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero” at 12:15 pm at the Main Library.

+  Teens, it’s “Something on a Stick Day” at the Howe Branch. Join us at 4 pm to try traditional American foods on a stick and compete to create the next food sensation. For ages 11-14.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28

+  The Arbor Hill/West Hill Branch hosts LEGO Club at 4 pm for kids ages 5-11. Use our huge supply of LEGOs to create a spaceship.

+  Start to learn basic Mandarin Chinese in this class at 4:30 pm at the Pine Hills Branch. The Mandarin Chinese conversation classes continue on April 4, 11, and 18.

THURSDAY, MARCH 29

+  Practice your job interviewing skills and get constructive feedback from an expert in the “Mock Job Interviews” workshop at the Main Library from 10 am til 12 pm. Please register at 427-4325.

+  Seniors, get your questions about the NYS EPIC Prescription Plan answered in this workshop from 10 am til 1 pm at the Main Library. For more information, call 427-4303.

+  It’s after-school craft time at 4 pm at the Delaware Branch for kids ages 5 and up.

FRIDAY, MARCH 30

Get personalized help with job searches, resumes, and basic computer skills from 10 am til 5 pm in the Main Library computer lab.

+  Teens, bring your friends to the Bach Branch to hang out, do art projects, play games, and enjoy snacks from 4 to 5:30 pm in our Just for Teens program. For ages 13-18.

SATURDAY, MARCH 31

Free income tax preparation services are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Main Library from 10 am til 3 pm. For details, call the Reference Department at 427-4303.

SUNDAY, APRIL 1

Watch “War Horse” at 2 pm at the Main Library. This Oscar-nominated movie from Steven Speilberg is based on a young adult novel by Michael Morpurgo.
