AUGUST 2 (TUES)
+ 12:15 pm. Book Review. Main Library. Adam Hochshild’s “To End All Wars: A Story of Loyalty and Rebellion, 1914-1918” is reviewed by David Colchamiro, MRP, a retired transportation analyst. Journalist Hochschild has written seven books, one of which was a finalist for the National Book Award.

AUGUST 3 (WED)
+ 1-4 pm. Job Search Assistance. Arbor Hill/West Hill Branch. Drop in for help.
+ 2 pm. Healthy Money Habits. Bach Branch. Learn good money habits and get a free moonjar bank. Register at 482-2154. Ages 5-12.
+ 2 pm. Teen Room Spirit. Howe Branch. Test your library skills in a race to see who knows how to find teen room books the fastest. Ages 13-17.
+ 2 pm. Peruvian Pipes. Main Library. Make your own instrument from PVC pipes. Register at 427-4310. Ages 5+.
+ 3 pm. Pottery Making. Pine Hills Branch. Fun with Sculpey clay . Ages 12-14.
+ 3 pm. Cupcake Cram: Cupcake Decorating Contest. Arbor Hill/West Hill Branch. Decorate and eat cupcakes. Ages 5+.
+ 5:30 pm. Come-u-KNITy Fiber Arts Workshop. Main Library. Knit a square for our community quilt.
+ 5:30-7:30 pm. Building Your Resume Class. Main Library. Craft a resume to help get a new job. Register: 427-4325.

AUGUST 4 (THURS)
+ 10 am-12 pm. Intro to Computers Class. Main Library. Learn computer basics. Register at 427-4325.
+ 1-3 pm. Metrix Learning Orientation. Main Library. Learn how to use this workforce training program to gain job skills. Attend this orientation and get free access to Metrix Learning for three months. Must have intermediate computer skills, ability to work individually. Limit 12 people. Register at 427-4325.
+ 2 pm. Teen Room Spirit. Howe Branch. Race to find teen room books. Ages 13-17.
+ 2 pm. Home Depot Build It Workshop. Main Library. Build something to take home. Register at 427-4310. Ages 5+.
+ 3 pm. Antarctica Slideshow and Ice Pops. Delaware Branch. Discover a cool continent and enjoy a cool treat. Ages 5+.

AUGUST 5 (FRI)
+ 9 am-5 pm. Open Lab. Main Library. Drop in for individual assistance. Our Working Knowledge Public Computing Center trainers help with job searches, resume writing, and basic computer skills.
+ 12-6 pm. Vietnamese Dragon Kites. North Albany Branch. Ages 5+.
+ 2 pm. Storyteller Bob Willower. Bach Branch. Hear Inuit stories. Ages 5+.
