The Pruyn Collection of Albany History at APL will be available for public use during different service hours starting on Monday, Jan. 27. The vast collection of books, pamphlets, clippings, newspapers, photograph, city directories, and census records is located in the Local History Room on the second floor of the Main Library at 161 Washington Avenue.
The new Local History Room hours are:
- Mondays from 4 to 7 pm – Every week
- Wednesdays from 9 am to 1 pm – First and third Wednesday of each month
- Fridays from 2 to 5 pm – Every week
- Saturdays from 1:30 to 5 pm – Second and fourth Saturday of each month
In addition, City Historian Tony Opalka will be available on the second and fourth Saturday of the month from 2 to 4 pm to assist the public with their local history research.
