All branches are closed Saturday, May 23, through Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day weekend.

Books & More

When you think of visiting the library, what do you think you’ll find here?

If you just think of books, think again!

Today, libraries provide so much more than books. From CDs & DVDs to online databases, ebooks, emagazines, special collections, and more, the Albany Public Library provides our community with so many ways to read, research, and learn.

Library Materials for All Ages and Audiences

Whether you want to curl up and read the latest bestseller at home, read a stack of picture books to your child at bedtime, listen to a classic novel or modern music on your way to work, watch that indie film you’ve been meaning to see, visit a regional museum this weekend, or discover Albany’s history in our Local History Room, we’ve got something to entertain, challenge, delight, and inspire Albany residents of all ages.

Do you have a book, CD, or DVD suggestion for us? Ask A Librarian!

Resources for Wherever You Are

Whether you’re in one of our seven neighborhood branches, at school, at home, or even on-the-go, library members have access to plenty of materials online, like ebooks and digital audiobooks, emagazines, streaming video, research databases, and our digital local history collection. Can’t get to the library or the library is closed? You can use the eLibrary any time!
