Albany Public Library Bookmobile
Stop Criteria Statement
Bookmobile stops are selected in accordance with library outreach priorities and customer needs and are based on the following criteria:
- Area open and accessible to the general public
- Availability of adequate parking
- Ample parking for customers
- Sufficient parking space to accommodate 36‘ bookmobile
- Sufficient parking space and street access space for the bookmobile to maneuver both in and out of the parking lot
- Dedicated parking location for bookmobile which is visible to the general public
- Parking area must be well-lit and well maintained, especially during the winter season
- Convenience
- Name of site liaison and contact information for bookmobile staff to contact in case of emergency
- Restroom facilities for bookmobile staff
- Availability of an outdoor 110 electrical outlet within 100’ of the designated bookmobile parking space
- Customer Use
- The Albany Public Library reserves the right to cancel a stop should the number of customers utilizing the bookmobile drop below a sufficient number to justify the service
- Geographic
- Balance schedule to ensure equitable coverage across the City of Albany
- Condition and maintenance of access routes
- Permission to bring bookmobile onto site on an ongoing basis
The service schedule of the Bookmobile is evaluated every six months. The Albany Public Library Outreach Department reserves the right to cancel at any time a stop that does not meet the above stated requirements.
